A golden retriever named Chi Chi who was meant to be slayed at a dog meat farm in South Korea was found firmly tied up by her paws that the binding were cutting off at her skin.
Chi Chi had been brutally deserted inside a garbage bag after the farmers decided she was not passable to eat. Fortunately, an animal rescue group found her early enough to save her life. However, Chi Chi’s paws were in a very bad form that the vets decided to cut them off entirely.
Regardless of Chi Chi’s disability, Elizabeth and Richard Howell adopted her and took her in Arizona. Chi Chi had to have new bandages applied daily and the prosthetics provided by vets in South Korea didn’t fit her suitably, so the Howell family raised £2,700 to buy her with an all-new prosthetic paws.
Chi Chi’s prosthetist made her an extra set for free and now she can walk and run around freely like any other dogs. Chi Chi’s family are eager to get her officially certified as a therapy dog so she can give comfort to those who are in need.
